Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are. - Brene Brown

FAQs

What can I expect from our first session?

In our first session, we will have an opportunity to explore what is bringing you to therapy. It will give you a chance to experience my style and give us a chance to see if we are a good fit. We might also explore some preliminary goals of therapy.

How will I know if you are a good fit?

This is a really good question. It sometimes takes 1-3 sessions to assess this. The first session is often anxiety provoking for people. My goal is to help you feel safe, relaxed and comfortable enough for you to be authentically you. Trust your gut. A good therapist will also be assessing if they feel that they are qualified and/or the right match to help you with what you are wanting to work on.

How will I know if therapy is working?

We will set goals at the beginning of therapy and regularly check in about how you feel about your progress and determine if we feel like we are on track.

We sometimes explore material in sessions that will take some time to work through. In between sessions, you will have time to integrate what you have learned and discovered about yourself and your relationships. You may not always feel “good” when you leave my office, but I am committed to walking the path with you every step of the way to increase your overall sense of well-being.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out of network provider and I can provide you with a Superbill which can be submitted to your insurance for a percentage reimbursement, if applicable. Please consult your insurance provider to further understand your benefits. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
